Name: Nate 'Near' Shikon
Gender: Male
Age: 14
Appearance:
Personality: He is distant from everyone even his family. Near only takes to himself and is not one to talk. When he is talking, it's most likely to discuss some sort of project that sounds complicated to most. He is most intelligent and can solve any puzzle or problem set before him. Ask anyone and they will tell you that he has no personality or emotion, which is maybe true, but he does feel. Near would never let his emotions show. As a sign of thinking, he has a serious habit of twirling his hair between his fingers.
Hobbies: Solving puzzles, toys, keeping to himself, toys, detective work
Likes: TOYS! white, silence, tough police cases, toying a bit with people's minds
Dislikes: Rudeness, incompetent people, people who can't play the 'game', and losing
Background: Near was never always quiet. He was actually quiet happy and smiled most of the time. His parents were very loving and accepting of him being cursed. He had tons of friends at school as well. His best friend was a girl named Lara. She was the one who gave him the nickname Near since he was so close and 'near' everyone. They did everything together. Even his parents sort of thought of her being a daughter to them. There was talk of them two growing up and even becoming closer. Near and Lara didn't understand since they were so young. But little did Near know that Lara was not everything she said she was.
There was a guest speaker at school one day. A man named Hemida Fokpa telling them about how he survived World War 2. Near was taken by him and quoted everything he said. Near would ask him all sorts of questions and listen to his stories. Lara didn't really like Hemida, but didn't tell Near this.
Lara came to Near one night after school to give Near the news that her family was moving the next day and she wouldn't be in school tomorrow. To help Near remember her, she gave him a silver necklace, a symbol dangling from it. She told him that it meant a strong friendship between them and to always wear it.
Near went to school ,the necklace secure around his neck. His teacher took one look and called him out into the halls. near didn't know what was going on, but followed and found out that the necklace belonged to Hemida. He tried telling them that Lara gave to him and what she told them. The teacher told him that Lara left after school yesterday and that there was no way she could have taken it. Plus it was Lara who told the teacher that she saw Near taking the necklace from Hemida the night before when they were all gathered at Near's house.
No matter what Near said, they didn't believe him and he became silent. He spoke when there was a misunderstanding with someone and pointing out the facts and to prove the truth. He believes that doing this would redeem him from the deeds that were untrue back when Lara deceived him. There were only two people who believed him and that were his parents.
Currently he is living with his loving parents in a house outside of the estate. Since Near pretty much isolated himself from everyone after Lara, he dedicated himself to his studies in one day becoming a detective. Because of this, Near has been able to skip many grades and is now a senior in high school, super close to graduating early.
